Most cars are available in an array of interesting colors, yet the most popular are white, silver, and black. When it comes to new car interiors, though, the vast majority are overwhelmingly black unless you go up the trim levels to find brown, beige, cream, or white. Red accents on black material is more common on sporty trims, but the good news is that red is not dead, and we've found a bunch of cars, from affordable runarounds to expensive luxury vehicles, where a red interior is an option. It's harder to find SUVs with a red interior, though, as brands like Land Rover have moved towards more earthy tones for its interiors. Even Jeep doesn't have a proper red interior right now, although you can get the Rubicon with a red dashboard.
Toyota Camry
The most affordable red interior car we could find is a 2023 Toyota Camry. You need to go up the trim levels to get past the usual black and beige and choose the $31,245 Camry XSE model to get the red leather, but it's available and looks great. Along with that interior, you're getting a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine unless you step up to the XSE V6 with its 3.5-liter six-cylinder engine making 301 horsepower. It's a shame the TRD trim only comes with a black interior. It's also a shame that the Camry's direct competitor, the Honda Accord, doesn't have a red interior option any more.
Kia K5
We like the Kia K5 (formerly the Optima), and the GT-Line is a nice yet sporty trim. It starts at $26,490 for the front-wheel-drive version, making it one of the cheapest cars with a red interior you can buy. The dashboard is black, but all the SynTex-covered seats and the soft-touch points are red. The GT-Line trims come with an energetic 1.8-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine making 180 hp and 198 lb-ft of torque. It's not the fastest Kia; that would be the Stinger.
Kia Stinger
A red lleather interior is available on the GT2 trim of the Kia Stinger, which puts the price at $53,190. Again, the dashboard is still black, but all the seats, as well as the door inserts, are red. Unlike the K5, though, you get a 3.3-liter twin-turbocharged V6 engine making 368hp and 376 lb-ft of torque to the rear wheels. All-wheel-drive is a $2,200 upgrade, but also adds Michelin Pilot Sport summer tires and a heated steering wheel.
Lexus LC 500
The Lexus LC 500 is one of our favorite cars, and if you spend $98,810, you can get Circuit Red leather and Satin Metallic trim. It's not our favorite take on a red car interior, though, as it's a little over the top for one of the most sophisticatedly styled cars you can buy right now. Still, if you like it, you also get jaw-dropping exterior styling and one of the smoothest and best-sounding 5.0-liter V8s available.
Lexus RC 350 F Sport
You can get some nice interior color choices on the Lexus RC, including a subtle gold-like yellow, but the Circuit Red NuLuxe with Dark Gray Streamline trim suits the car perfectly. The RC 300 F Sport RWD starts at $48,940 and comes powered by a 3.5-liter naturally aspirated engine making 311 hp. While it's not the best-performing sports coupe on the market, it's a ton of fun and turns heads on the street. Lexus likes a red interior, but it's mostly on the F-Sport models, including the NX SUV.
BMW 330i / M3
BMW still likes a red interior. You can get BMW's stylish Tacora Red perforated leather or Tacora red leather with contrast stitching on any of the brand's models with a 3 in the name. That means the standard 3 Series, the X3 crossover, and the M3 can be optioned with a red interior. The 3 Series starts with a 244-hp turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine, while the M3 cranks it up with a turbocharged 6-cylinder making 503 hp on the top-spec Competition xDrive Sedan. The 3 Series starts at $42,300, while the full-blooded M3 starts at $72,800.
BMW X3
BMW calls the X3 a "Sport Activity Vehicle." which is marketing speak for "We Don't Want To Call It A Crossover." In reality, it's a small crossover that starts at $45,400. The Tacora Red Perforated interior is a no-cost option that looks great on the SUV. It's fun to drive as well. The BMW X3 is rear-wheel-drive and comes with a turbocharged 4-cylinder engine making 248 hp, while the X3 M40i uses a turbocharged straight-six making 382 hp.
Honda Civic Type R
A new Honda Civic Type R is landing, and it comes with several choices of paint but only one color for the interior - red. It's not just red seats. The Civic Type R has red seatbelts, red door cards and red carpets and it's Honda's specific shade of red, so it's bright. The Civic Type R is the benchmark for hot hatches available in America and comes with a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder making 315 hp at 6,500 rpm and 310 lb-ft of torque between 2,600 and 4,000 rpm. While we're not usually fans of white, a Civic Type R in Championship White with the Honda red interior is the correct spec.
Porsche Macan
Porsche is one of the best automakers when it comes to color options. The exterior selection is mind-boggling, or you can paint-to-sample. Inside, even the entry-level Macan SUV has eight options, including Bordeaux red leather over black or the extended Bordeaux red leather interior that adds color to the dashboard and the whole of the door inserts. Because it's Porsche, that's a $3,880 option on a small SUV that starts at $57,500. Also, because the Macan is a Porsche, it's a lot of fun to drive and packs a 261-hp turbocharged four-cylinder engine in the base model, and tops out at 434 hp in the Macan GTS.
Porsche 911
If you want an all-red interior and a seriously quick and fun-to-drive car, then it's time to look at the Porsche 911. The base 911 Carrera starts at $106,100, and you can option a full Bordeaux leather interior with or without cream stitching or Bordeaux and black. The Porsche 911 is the quintessential European sports car, and its engineering and build quality are unmatched in the segment. Powering the base model is a 379-hp flat-six engine, but higher trims reach into the 500s.
Porsche Taycan
The Bordeaux red interior is a common Porsche option, but one of our favorite applications is on the Taycan. The electric sedan starts at $86,700, and the leather-free Bordeaux red Race Tex material is a $4,700 option. The Taycan is a lovely ride with plenty of room, and its electric drivetrain makes 402 hp in the base model. At the top of the range is the Taycan Turbo S Cross Turismo which has a shooting brake body style and makes 750 hp. That starts at $190,000, but the Bordeaux red leather interior is a no-cost option.
Jaguar F-Type R
Moving from the regular F-Type to the R-badged version opens up some cool interior color combinations. They include Mars Red Leather, but they cost an extra $2,500 and you have to upgrade to the 12-way adjustable seats to get the full red leather interior treatment. With the F-Type R already starting at $111,200, you might as well go for it and enjoy one of the most underrated sports cars available in the US to the fullest. You should also make sure its the convertible, not the coupe, so you can show off the interior and enjoy the unimpeded and spectacular sound of its 575-hp V8.
Acura TLX
Sitting above the new Integra in Acura's lineup, the $38,900 TLX is available with the A-Spec package, which offers a red and black interior option. Going to the top of the TLX trims is the $53,700 S-Type and the option for a red geometric patterned interior. The S-Type comes with a 3.0-liter turbocharged V6 engine and Acura's excellent Super Handling All-Wheel-Drive (SH-AWD) system and is as practical as it is a hoot to drive.
Bentley Flying Spur S
Bentley says the Flying Super S "takes the unmistakable presence of the Flying Spur and imbues it with a darker edge." For sure, it's the kind of Bentley you want to drive rather than sit in the back of. Bentley's Flying Spur range is typically offered with light earth tones, black, or grey interiors. However, the S badge model can be bought with dark red heavily accenting the black interior. Of course, you could get the Mulliner department involved if you have crazy money to spend and have the entire interior in whatever shade of red you want. You could probably have Mulliner come up with a red-cloth interior if you really wanted. It's powered by a V8 making over 500 hp or a hybrid drivetrain and costs in excess of $200,000.
Mercedes-AMG SL63 Roadster
The Mercedes-AMG SL 63 Roadster looks fantastic whether the top is up or down, and it had better be for $178,100. It's powered by a 577-hp V8 and is one of the finest grand tourers money can buy. You can choose the Red Pepper Nappa leather interior and, if you want to keep the theme going outside, a red convertible soft top. For reasons of good taste, you can't choose red paint and the red top together to go with the red interior.
Mercedes S-Class Sedan
If you want the quintessential executive luxury sedan, you want the Mercedes S-Class. At $111,000, there's a lot of luxury, including a Carmine Red/Black Exclusive Nappa leather interior for an extra $5,000. It also requires choosing the $3,800 Warmth & Comfort Package for no apparent reason. But If you can afford an S-Class, that's not going to be a reach, so go ahead and do it. Unfortunately, you can't get the luxurious GLS SUV with a red interior.
