Man sentenced to prison for making threats to blow up Dodson School (2)

GREAT FALLS, Mont. - On May 29, 2024, a man was sentenced to one year and one month in prison followed by three years supervised release after he previously admitted to making threats to blow up the Dodson school.

According to the Office of US Attorney Jesse Laszlovich, Jacob Edwin Wilson (40), a transient, was charged with false information and hoaxes,to which he pleaded guilty in January 2024.

Court documents alleged that on August 29, 2023, Wilson called both the Blaine County 911 emergency line and the Dodson school, located near the Fort Belknap Indian Reservation, to say he was "about to blow Dodson school up".

Police quickly responded and the superintendent and principal evacuated all students and staff from the school to a nearby parking lot.

Phillips County Sheriff's Office first responders, Malta Fire, and U.S. Border Patrol all assisted in setting up security around the school and searching the school for explosive devices.

No such explosives were found. Wilson later called 911 again and asked for someone to give him a ride off of the reservation from an individual's address which he provided and added that he needed a ride from anyone except Fort Belknap police.

Officers then located Wilson at the private address and arrested him.
